Balloon
The saline-filled gastric balloon sits in the stomach cavity and is intended to decrease appetite by occupying about one third of the stomach volume, as well as by slowing down stomach emptying.
The Spatz Gastric Balloon System's design allows a physician to use a standard snare when the time comes for its removal. |

Anchor
The gastric balloon is attached to a curled silicone anchor with an internal chain link, which makes it non-collapsible, yet allows the anchor to be straightened for insertion and removal.
The anchor delays migration of the balloon out of the duodenum in the event of balloon deflation- a very important safety measure. This is the unique Spatz feature that makes 1 year implantation possible.

Inflation Tube
A retractable/stretchable silicone inflation tube allows the balloon to have its volume adjusted after initial insertion, while the balloon remains in the stomach. This is a very important function for comfort and sustainable weight loss.
